Inflation: minimum wage increase ‘not enough’ – Bernard Grech

Opposition Leader Bernard Grech said the minimum wage increase to €200 per week was not enough to mitigate the effects of inflation

Grech reiterated the Nationalist Party’s call that the COLA raise should not be taxed, and that the government should help employers.

He said the PN’s economic vision would steer the country away from depending on “cheap labour” and focus on creating high-value jobs.

Grech promised a “different direction” and further claimed that the Nationalist Party wanted to “double” wages.
