Mamma Mia! ABBA leader sues ADPD executives for libel

Ivan Grech Mintoff has filed a libel suit against ADPD over claims that he acted “inappropriately” when attending an event for children

The leader of the political party ABBA sued ADPD’s deputy chairperson Sandra Gauci, general secretary Ralph Cassar and international secretary Mina Tolu.

ADPD representatives said in comments published on 30 March that Grech Mintoff had behaved “inappropriately” at a children’s event.

They said his actions amounted to “harassment” and “intimidation” of both children and parents who had attended a ŻiguŻajg play about gender fluidity.

ADPD’s Mina Tolu said Spazju Kreattiv staff had told them a security guard present was necessary due to the presence of ABBA members at prior performances.

Tolu said they had been told those ABBA members had been recording the play and workshop, and asked questions to the children present.

Grech Mintoff has denied these claims, saying “we attended the performance like everyone else, without asking any questions or speaking to children”.
