‘KM Malta’ website finally online

Malta’s new national airline under the working title ‘KM Malta Airlines’ has finally launched its own website and booking platform

Travellers choosing to book their tickets directly with KM Malta can now do so without having to inquire over the phone.

The airline has also published its full terms and conditions which it failed to provide while taking more than 120,000 bookings over the last seven days.

A botched start

According to the government’s initial announcements in October, ticket sale should have started on 1 December.

However, KM Malta launched its sales callcentre only last Monday, and failed to inform customers about its flight schedule for hours.

In a piecemeal approach to customer information, details on the new airline’s fares were not published until Tuesday.

The airline caused further confusion among customers when it allowed third-party booking platforms to use inconsistent airline names, with some still referring to ‘Air Malta’ for ticket sales from 31 March 2024.

The government’s new company has not yet legally obtained usage rights for the Air Malta brand from the same government.
