Air Malta no longer selling tickets for flights beyond its closure date

A week after the announcement of a new national airline, Air Malta has stopped selling tickets for flights beyond its closure date

As reported by The Shift and Bonġu last week, tickets for flights after 30 March 2024 were still available on the airline’s booking system.

While Air Malta did not comment, an insider said this showed “lack of confidence in the government’s schedule” or was a “fraudulent” tactic to stay financially afloat.

Prime Minister Robert Abela and Finance Minister Clyde Caruana had announced that a new national airline will take off on 31 March.
