Heavily biased former PBS news chief to run for Labour president

Former PBS head of news Norma Saliba has announced she will run for the post of Labour Party president – urged to contest by party leader Robert Abela

Saliba said on Saturday she had the backing of foreign minister Ian Borg and MEP Alex Agius Saliba.

Borg and Agius Saliba are the two confirmed candidates for the party’s two deputy leadership posts.

The continuous process of renewal in the party needed “new impetus and fresh ideas”, Norma Saliba said on Saturday morning.

Saliba announced she would work with all her strength in order for the Labor Party to remain “the biggest political force in Malta and Gozo in the time to come”.

“Robert Abela is rewarding whoever made PBS his personal propaganda machine”, PN secretary general Michael Piccinino commented.

He pointed out that, while Saliba managed its newsroom, PBS was found guilty in three instances of breaching the fundamental rights of the Nationalist Party.
