Tourist arrivals increase by 33.5% in first 8 months

Malta and Gozo welcomed 1,986,260 tourists during the first eight months of the year – 33.5% more than over the same period in 2022

The total nights spent went up by 25 per cent, almost reaching 13.6 million nights, the National Statistics Office said on Wednesday.

According to estimates, tourists spent a total of 1.8 billion euros by the end of August, an increase of 36.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

The average expenditure per tourist increased by 17 euros to €888.
