TM to blacklist road contractors who fail to deliver

Transport Malta will blacklist road contractors who deliver poor quality or cause delays

The authority said it will monitor works, and a committee will determine if a contractor is blacklisted.

Contractors are now required to prove that they have sufficient staff to work on a project.

Another new requirement are notice boards identifying the reason for the works, the responsible government entity, the contractor and the construction time.

TM said it wants to prevent adjacent roads to be closed at the same time by mapping all permits in its computer system.

However, this cannot be fully prevented in case of emergency works, the authority said.
