Prime Gaslighter Robert Abela’s comments on the forced resignation of Clayton Bartolo as tourism minister again showed us how Labour’s sick brain thinks and works
The Prime Gaslighter
This was not just “another U-turn”, as Opposition leader Bernard Grech described the move in his repetitive and tiring political vocabulary. It was worse than that.
Abela told journalists on Tuesday morning that the decision was taken in light of a separate scandal – which we only learned about hours later from the Times.
The FIAU reportedly flagged to the police that Bartolo’s wife, Amanda Muscat, is suspected of receiving a €50,000 kickback for a Malta Tourism Authority contract.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Prime Gaslighter failed to transparently explain his decision and instead expected the country to wait for the newspaper’s revelations.
We were not simply watching “another U-turn”. Today, we saw yet another example of how a criminal organisation in government communicates while another bombshell is being dropped.
Meanwhile, a completely delusional Clayton Bartolo – who is understood to remain in Parliament as an independent and thus largely useless MP – turned to Facebook:
“When he [Robert Abela] appointed me to the cabinet I gave him my word that if I repeatedly gave rise to those who used me to attack the work of the Government or the Labour Party, then I would bear political responsibility”, Bartolo said.
It remains to be seen for how many – or few – months Bartolo will have to pay the “political price” on the backbench before the criminal organisation gives him a warm welcome back.
All of this brought to you by the Prime Gaslighter.
