Standards Commissioner cannot investigate Steve Ellul over Ira Losco’s contract

Project Green CEO Steve Ellul will not be investigated over a series of promotional posts from singer Ira Losco

Standards Commissioner Joseph Azzopardi said the law limits him to investigating MPs and some persons of trust.

However, Azzopardi said he will continue to investigate Environment Minister Miriam Dalli’s role in the affair.

The Shift revealed last month that Ira Losco was using her social media profiles to promote politicians through a public contract.

Losco was not only promoting Project Green, but also tagged its CEO Steve Ellul – a potential Labour MEP candidate – and minister Miriam Dalli.

Independent politician Arnold Cassola asked the Commissioner for Standards in Public Life to investigate the matter.
