Reliable sources confirm a statement by Jason Azzopardi, who accuses Malta Enterprise of having lied under oath
Sources confirm: ‘Malta Enterprise misled Court in Cyclotron testimony’
On Monday morning, Azzopardi stated that six individuals confirmed to him that – contrary to what Malta Enterprise claimed under oath last week – the Cyclotron does not work.
The former PN MP and lawyer said that if the prosecution wanted proof on this, it should go and ask those responsible for procurement at Mater Dei hospital.
“No wonder there were those who did not want [rule of law NGO] Repubblika to be admitted as a party in the case because I would have been with them in the courtroom”, Azzopardi said.
No certification, no operator
“The cyclotron is installed, but up until now it has neither been certified nor producing anything”, a reliable source confirmed to NEWZ.mt on Tuesday morning.
Malta’s hospitals, both public and privately owned, still need to source radioactive isotopes “from Turkey and Italy”, which confirms that “the statement they made in court was misleading”, they explained.
A separate source told this newsroom that “Jason Azzopardi is right”, also confirming that the machine “is not operational as there is no licensed operator”.
