Rota highlights Msida Creek project shortcomings

Bicycle advocacy group Rota has criticised the design of the Msida Creek project

The plans showed complex crossings, a lack of direct links, and inadequate routes towards Valletta, the NGO said.

Rota also criticised that the project won’t include direct bicycle lanes to and from University of Malta.

Claims of pollution reduction were misleading, it said, calling for the diversion of traffic away from urban centers.

Rota calls for further consultation

“We appreciate the ongoing dialogue with Infrastructure Malta and acknowledge the progress made in the Msida Creek project design. However, the current design still falls short in meeting the needs of bicycle users”, the group said.

Rota called upon Infrastructure Malta to address its concerns and engage in further consultation with cycling advocacy groups.
