PN leader concerned about Malta’s high inflation

Opposition Leader Bernard Grech said that people deserve a better life, referring to Malta’s high inflation figures

While overall inflation was down to 5.6 per cent, Malta’s annual inflation rate for food and non-alcoholic beverages in July stood at 10 per cent.

Bernard Grech said that the cost of living in Malta remains more severe than the burden families are facing in other Eurozone countries.

On Saturday, Grech called for strengthening the economic sectors the PN created and for creating new sectors that target quality jobs.

He also wants the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) to become non-taxable, and called for incentives for business activities that do not pollute.
