No Deposit Cars takes down Azzopardi banner

Controversial car dealership removed banner – Chamber of Advocates had warned of ‘further steps’

No Deposit Cars Malta in Qormi has taken down a ‘Happy Easter’ banner targeting lawyer Jason Azzopardi.

This move on Monday morning followed the Chamber of Advocates’ warning on Saturday it would consider further steps if the company failed to remove the banner.

The chamber said the banner undermines a lawyer’s right to represent clients without being intimidated or threatened.

Last week, Jason Azzopardi told Lovin Malta he felt “certainly not” intimidated by the poster and that “evil will be its own downfall”.

Azzopardi is set to represent 26 dissatisfied No Deposit Cars clients, alleging that the company is defrauding customers and evading tax.

No Deposit Cars is owned by alleged kidnapper Christian Borg who has regularly boasted of having a close relationship with Prime Minister Robert Abela.
