Nicolette Ghirxi: Impromptu action at St George’s Square at 7pm

Young Progressive Beings are the first to demonstrate ‘the gravity of the situation’ following Malta’s second femicide this year

In response to the murder of Nicolette Ghirxi, activist group Young Progressive Beings will lead an impromptu action at 19:00 at St. George’s Square in Valletta.

“Men are killing women. We must not mince our words anymore. Men are killing women, and Malta’s institutions are not prioritising our safety”, the group said.

“We are gathering in Valletta to demonstrate the gravity of the situation, and to demand better protection as women. We deserve better protection. Nicolette deserved better protection.”

Young Progressive Beings Malta called on individuals interested in joining the action to meet them from 17:00 at Valletta Design Cluster – dressed in black.

The action at St George’s Square at 19:00 will resemble a silent procession.
