Labour Party back in the lead in first after-budget survey

The Labour Party leads by 9,000 votes over the Nationalist Party, the first political survey after the budget presentation shows

Only last month, the Nationalists were in pole position by nearly 5,000 votes.

MaltaToday’s November Survey shows that the PL enjoys the support of 49%, an increase of five points over October.

The PN stands at 45.4%, a slight decrease of 0.4 points, while other parties collectively poll 5.6%, a decline of almost five points.

If elections were held now, voter turnout would be at an all-time low of 69%, with 31% of respondents saying they would not vote.

38% said they trust Prime Minister Robert Abela the most, while Opposition Leader Bernard Grech is most trusted by 23.6%.

Among Labour voters, Abela’s trust rating stands at 66%, while only 46% of PN voters trust their party leader.
