Inbound tourists up by 31% in October

In October 2023, Malta welcomed an estimated 313,705 inbound tourists, 31.1% more when compared to the same month in 2022

Total nights spent also saw a substantial rise in October, reaching 2,062,214, the National Statistics Office said on Monday. The total expenditure surpassed an estimated €300.8 million.

The vast majority (90.4%) of inbound tourists visited Malta for holiday purposes, while 20,375 tourists came for business purposes.

Inbound tourists aged 25 to 44 again made up the largest share of visitors, constituting 37.8%, closely followed by the 45-64 age group at 34.4%.

Residents from the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany comprised a significant 44.1% of the total inbound tourist count.
