Hitler apologist barred from contact with inmates at Kordin workplace

Outrage over widely condemned book and TV interview led to PBS review, police report

Maltese Hitler-biographer Ronald Bugeja has been provisionally barred from having any contact to inmates at his workplace Corradino Correctional Facility.

Bugeja already had limited contact with inmates since he was responsible for infrastructural projects, the Correctional Services Agency told Newsbook.

His appearance in TVM’s programme Ħajjitna Ktieb, where he presented his book ‘Mein Führer’ defending Adolf Hitler, has sparked public outrage.

Since Manuel Delia denounced the book and its author’s appearance on TVM last week, PBS has announced an internal review, and a police report against Bugeja has been filed.

Ronald Bugeja later said he condemned all Nazi atrocities and did not agree with them, claiming he wanted “to explain the story with a new perspective”.
