Rule-of-law NGOs Repubblika and OccupyJustice opened their exhibition ‘Daphne Eroj Maltija’ in Valletta
Exhibition ‘Daphne Eroj Maltija’ launched
On Saturday, rule-of-law NGOs Repubblika and OccupyJustice opened their exhibition Daphne Eroj Maltija. The sad state of affairs: five years on, justice has not been served.
“What’s happening in the courtroom is making one step forward and five steps back. I can’t see things developing in a way where justice is going to be brought about anytime soon”, OccupyJustice activist Clemence Dujardin said.
That’s anything else than an encouraging environment for people to speak up, especially women.
“Women are powerful, and when they stand up to be counted, to tell a story, they can go places. Never be scared! There will be people that try to stop them, there will be threats and low moments. But if you believe in what you have to say, keep going and do it!”, Dujardin said.
The events marking the fifth anniversary of the killing of Daphne Caruana Galizia are costing Repubblika as organisers around €20,000, the civil society NGO said, asking for donations.
