The Gozo Business Chamber has presented its budget proposals focussing on targeted fiscal incentives

Chamber wants Gozo to be driving force in energy sector
It said Gozo’s drive to achieve net carbon neutrality prior to Malta should continue, and that Gozo should be the driving force in the energy sector.
“The Chamber believes that its long-term proposal of having a specialised institute on research which would test and deploy sustainable technologies on the island is a very valid one”.
Incentives to the property sector should be aligned with the socio-economic and environmental needs of the island.
Finishing of the existing supply of property should be incentivised, with partial VAT refunds according to the level of sustainability.
Fiscal incentives for property transfers between co-owners could encourage the preservation of long-term property relationships.
The sectors for import, wholesale and retail should be assisted to cover added cost for providing their services on the main island of Malta.
Gozitan artisans should be assisted in participating in artisan fairs being held on the main island of Malta.
The Gozo Business Chamber is also calling for the construction of a new general hospital and a new garden in Victoria with an underground car park.
