Approved dwellings up by 9.5% in second quarter

The number of approved dwellings has increased by 9.5% during the second quarter when compared to the same period in 2022

Figures published by the NSO show that 494 construction permits for 2,453 new homes were approved in the second quarter of 2023.

When compared to April-June 2022, the number of new residences approved in Malta increased by 18.7% while those in Gozo and Comino decreased by 24.6%.

St Paul’s Bay accounted for 45% (224) of all residential building permits granted in the second quarter.
