Heart attack: ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ producer dies in Malta

David Bronner, the producer of Conchita’s ESC-winning hit ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’, has died in Malta following a heart attack

The Austrian keyboardist, producer and recording engineer died while on vacation in Malta, ESC scout Eberhard Forcher announced on Facebook.

“I can’t and don’t want to believe it”, Forcher said, adding that he had received the sad news from a reputable source.

David Bronner (58) was instrumental in Conchita Wurst’s victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen.

Austrian ESC scout Eberhard Forcher paid tribute to the late producer, describing him as a wonderful person and musician.

“He was the one who taught me so many things in my first year as an ESC scout. I enjoyed being in his studio and learned a lot from his expertise”, Forcher said.
