The PN has asked the police to launch criminal proceedings after Keith Schembri indicated Edward Scicluna and Silvio Valletta had lied under oath

‘Investigate Schembri, Scicluna, Valletta for perjury’, PN PAC members demand
The nationalist members on the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) said that at least one crime had been committed in connection to testimony given.
Either Valletta and Scicluna had lied under oath in the Daphne Caruana Galizia public inquiry, or Schembri did so before the PAC on Tuesday, the PN said.
On Tuesday, Former OPM chief of staff Keith Schembri denied intervening in 2018 to stop the police from questioning Yorgen Fenech on 17 Black.
Former deputy police commissioner Silvio Valletta had told the Daphne Caruana Galizia public inquiry that Schembri had rung him up, trying to call off the questioning.
Before the PAC, Schembri also rubbished claims of former finance minister Edward Scicluna who had testified in the public inquiry that a ‘kitchen cabinet’ was running the country.
“The versions of events offered by the three people in question under oath to the PAC and to the board of the inquiry makes clear that someone has lied under oath”, the PN MPs said.
On Wednesday, they handed a letter to the police commissioner asking for an investigation into perjury.
