A senior Labour source told Bonġu not everyone agreed with Prime Minister Robert Abela’s stance to wait-and-see on Justyne Caruana’s ethics breach.

‘Not everyone agrees’ with Abela on Justyne Caruana – Labour source
The Standards Commissioner’s findings were “clear enough to take immediate action”, instead of “dragging the matter over Christmas and nearer to the upcoming election campaign”.
Earlier today, the Parliament’s standards committee decided for the publication of Standard Commissioner George Hyzler’s investigation report.
Prime Minister Robert Abela told journalists this afternoon that “the necessary decisions” would be taken once the proceedings have been concluded.
The Labour source also referred to lively discussions about Caruana’s conduct in the messenger app Telegram.
“Some believe that, whatever our Prime Minister says, she should simply resign on her own initiative so as not to harm the party.”
The insider added there was no urgent political reason for Justyne Caruana to wait for the parliamentary committee to decide on action against her.
