20 more vehicles on Malta’s roads every day

During the first quarter of 2023, the stock of licensed motor vehicles increased by 1,816 over the previous quarter

The daily average of newly licensed motor vehicles amounted to 52, while the average net increase saw 20 more vehicles on Malta’s roads every day.

At the end of March 2023, the total number of registered vehicles stood at 426,720, almost 75% of which were passenger cars.

Electric and plug-in hybrid motor vehicles accounted for 2.9% of the entire stock, with a total of 12,411 motor vehicles.

The data quarterly provided by Transport Malta has been published by the National Statistics Office.
